The 8th COMAC International Science and Technology Innovation Week opened

The opening ceremony of the 8th COMAC International Science and Technology Innovation Week themed with "Sky Link: Sustainable Aviation for the Future" was held at Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute (BASTRI) of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) on September 8th, 2025. More than 500 experts and scholars from government agencies, colleges and universities, enterprises, research institutions, customers, industry associations and other relevant cooperative units in 9 countries and regions attended the Science and Technology Innovation Week of this year. 
  
Mr. He Dongfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of COMAC, Mr. Zhang Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Oscar García, President of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), and Mr. Gustavo Alonso, Authorized Representative of President of UPM and Director of Higher School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering, made speeches at the opening ceremony. Mr. Luo Xiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of COMAC, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Xue Qikun, Winner of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and President of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), made a keynote speech. Mr. Wu Wensheng, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of COMAC, and Mr. Wu Guanghui, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist of COMAC, jointly released the project cooperation requirements for the 8th COMAC International Science and Technology Innovation Week. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Science and Technology Innovation Week of this year is jointly hosted by COMAC, UPM and BIT. It will last for one week from September 8th to 12th, and consist of seven topics including low-altitude economy, reform of the aviation transportation system, and new energy. Special events such as industry-education integration, talent forums and basic science conferences will be held, aiming to achieve the goals of "exchanging ideas on basic science, exploring cutting-edge technologies, solving difficult problems, and promoting innovation cooperation", thus to jointly promote the integrated development of the technical and industrial innovation of the trunk liner program.
