On Flight MU2158 of China Eastern Airlines (CEA) from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Xi'an Xianyang International Airport on December 19th, 2024, a passenger Mdm Lin was lucky enough to become the millionth passenger of the China-made trunk liner C919. This also means that since being put into commercial operation on May 28th, 2023, C919 aircraft has accumulatively carried more than 1 million passengers.
"The number of passengers carried by the China-made trunk liner C919 has exceeded 1 million today, and the millionth passenger is on this flight." Along with the cabin announcement made by the purser, all the passengers clapped and celebrated, witnessing the memorable moment. The crew of CEA presented a model of C919 aircraft to the lucky passenger Mdm Lin as a memorial. Mdm Lin said excitedly that this was the first time for her to ride on a China-made aircraft, and she was very lucky and proud. She hoped to experience more "China-made" products in travel in the future and wished the operation of the China-made trunk liner to get better and better.
As of December 19th, 2024, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) had delivered 14 C919 aircraft to three major airlines. Among which, CEA, as the world's first launch customer of C919, had operated nine aircraft which had completed a total of 6,240 commercial flights in eight high quality routes and carried more than 850,000 passengers. The C919 aircraft of Air China had operated in four routes from Beijing to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Wuhan. The C919 aircraft of China Southern Airlines had operated in four routes from Guangzhou to Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Haikou. The C919 aircraft of the three major airlines had operated in a total of 15 routes in 10 cities.
