ARJ21 aircraft of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) took off from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on August 25th, 2024, and successfully arrived at Daocheng Yading Airport after a flight of 44 minutes, which is an important stop in the ongoing demonstration flight of ARJ21 aircraft around Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
Daocheng Yading Airport is located in Haizi Mountain, Sangdui Township, Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 4,411 meters. It is the highest civil airport in the world. ARJ21 has flown to this airport in July 2020 to carry out a 15-day flight test, completing a maximum take-off/landing height expansion flight test, and verifying the take-off and landing capabilities of ARJ21 aircraft in the environment of a high plateau airport.
COMAC will adhere to the principle of being customer centered, and sustainably create value for customers. On the premise of fully ensuring the commonality of aircraft models, COMAC will continuously improve the plateau operation performance of ARJ21 aircraft through adaptive modification and design optimization, so as to enable ARJ21 aircraft to fully meet the requirements of operation in high-altitude airports.
