C919 completes first ultimate load case of whole aircraft static test

Aircraft Strength Research Institute of China (ASRI) completed the pressurized ultimate load verification test of pressurized cabin of C919 aircraft at Shanghai branch with the witness of CAAC representatives on June 6th, 2018. The test procedure was smooth, the test results met the analysis expectation, the fuselage pressure protection performance was good, and the test was successful.

This test is a severer test of the strength of pressurized fuselage cabin of C919 aircraft, including the strength of the connection between door, window, valve and the airframe structure, and is the first ultimate load case of C919 whole aircraft static test. As the cabin need to be pressurized during the pressurization test, necessary enclosure was made around the test aircraft for safety reasons to prevent items from flying out due to excessive pressure during the test.

Before the test, through the active communication with CAAC and the cooperation of Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute (SADRI) and ASRI, the test program was approved by European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is of great significance to the airworthiness certification of C919 aircraft. The success of this test has made a good beginning for the ultimate load test of C919 aircraft and laid a solid foundation for the success of the follow-up tests.
