Two C919 aircraft appear together for first time

AC101 completes third flight test, and AC102 completes engine ignition test

C919 AC101 landed after the third flight test on November 3rd, 2017.


After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the cadres and employees of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) had practiced the spirits of the 19th National Congress with concrete actions, and the forefront of C919 aircraft development achieved another success. AC102 with fuselage sprayed completed engine ignition test in the evening of November 2nd, 2017. AC101 took off for the third time from Shanghai Pudong International Airport early in the morning of November 3rd, 2017, returned to the airport after a flight of about 3 hours and 48 minutes, and completed one initial inspection flight test. After taking off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, AC101 mainly carried out flight test in the sky above Nantong, Jiangsu province, hovered for a number of circles, and flew with a highest altitude of 3,000 meters.

AC101 and AC102 appeared together at Pudong base of COMAC Flight Test Center on November 2nd, 2017. AC101 was making preparation for the flight plan on the next day, and AC102 was about to start engine ignition test. With the command of the general director at the testing site, white smoke sprayed out from the ends of the two large engines of AC102 stably, and the engines were successfully started. In the next phase, AC102 would carry out the work related to onboard ground test of airborne test systems to make preparation for the subsequent taxiing and the first flight.

AC101 took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 7:38 in the morning of November 3rd, 2017,and returned to the airport at 11:26 after completing 48 test points including initial controls inspection, landing gear retraction and extension, sideslip, and lateral and longitudinal dynamic stabilities. The flight crew includes Test Pilots Cai Jun, Wu Xin and Zou Lixue, and Flight Test Engineers Dai Wei and Liu Lisu.
