Yaw maneuver 100% limit load test for static strength study on C919 wing-body combination completed

Yaw maneuver 100% limit load test for static strength study on C919 wing-body combination was conducted and completed successfully on March 29th, 2014. Mr. Wu Guanghui, Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) and Chief Designer of C919 program directed the test on site. Observers from CAAC Shanghai Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Center viewed the whole process of the test on site.

The test for static strength study on C919 wing-body combination plays an important role in promoting the design optimization of C919 airframe structure, verifying the structural strength of wing-to-body butt joint and keel beam, applying new materials and dissolving the risk in static test of the whole aircraft. As a precondition, yaw maneuver 100% limit load test is an important measure for the accuracy of the theoretical analysis of strength, and the success of this test lays a solid foundation for tests to be subsequently conducted in severe conditions.
