Dr. Jin Zhuanglong, born in March 1964 in Zhoushan of Zhejiang Province, holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in May 1984. Mr. Jin graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics majoring in winged missile design and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in 1986; in the same year, he also studied a course in flight mechanics in Northwest Industrial University, followed by a Master's Degree in Engineering from Shanghai Academy of Space Technology in 1989; and a Doctorate Degree in Industrial Economics from Fudan University in 2003. He attended Class 2 for Advanced Studies at the Party School of the CPC from September 1997 to January 1998, and the Class for Advanced Studies of Provincial-Governor-and-Ministerial-Level Cadres at the Party School of the CPC from September 2007 to January 2008, and another Class for Advanced Studies of Provincial-Governor-and-Ministerial-Level Cadres at the Party School of the CPC from March 2010 to April 2010.
Dr. Jin started his career at the Eighth Design Department of Shanghai Aerospace Bureau in June 1989, serving successively as Technician, Head of Engineering Group and Deputy Director of Research Office. His technical titles have successively been Assistant Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer and Researcher. He served as Director of the Eighth Design Department of Shanghai Aerospace Bureau since February 1996, Director-General of Shanghai Aerospace Bureau since January 1998, and Member of Party Leadership Group of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and Director-General of Shanghai Aerospace Bureau since June 1999; Vice President and Member of Party Leadership Group of CASC since December 2001; Secretary-General of Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND) (also served as Deputy Administrator of China National Space Administration and spokesperson of COSTIND) since June 2004, Vice Minister and Member of Party Leadership Group of COSTIND since July 2005, and Deputy Head of the Preparation Group of Large Commercial Aircraft Program since August 2007. Dr. Jin served as Deputy Chairman and President of COMAC, as well as Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of COMAC since March 2008. He is now Chairman and Secretary of Party Committee of COMAC.
Dr Jin has been twice a Second-Prize Winner of National Science and Technology Progress Award. He authored "China's Aerospace Industrial Competitiveness", and received the Governmental Special Allowance awarded by the State Council in 2001. He is Standing Director of China's International Economic Exchange Center, and also Director of Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits.
